Hamirpur (H.P.): Gaurav Kapoor, the young man who was arrested for allegedly sneaking into a camp of yoga guru Ramdev here and granted bail by a local court on Thursday, was freed from jail on Friday evening. During a brief interaction with mediapersons outside the jail after his release, Gaurav said he had interviewed Guru Ramdev for `Divya Times' newspaper at a Jalandhar camp organised by the yoga guru and had come to Hamirpur to cover another such camp. The newspaper had said he never worked for it. Gaurav claimed he was innocent and was being framed for no valid reasons.
Helicopter
Gaurav had travelled in the same helicopter in which Guru Ramdev and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister V.B. Singh flew from Chandigarh to Hamirpur recently, sending the security establishment into a tizzy. The young man had reportedly introduced himself as an Intelligence Bureau official and then as a journalist to manage to fly in the helicopter.
Security agencies
Ramdev had said it was for the police and other security agencies to ascertain if Gaurav has links with any militant outfit. The young man's family has denied the charge that he had such links. -- PTI
