THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Titanium Officers' Association has urged the State Government to avert the closure of Travancore Titanium Products (TTP). Association president Anathalavattom Anandan said in a statement here on Friday that the time limit set by the High Court to complete the pollution abatement project expired in April. He said the company was awaiting the final verdict when the court resumes functioning after summer vacation. The Government should take steps to retain the company, which has registered an impressive performance in the public sector, he said. Mr. Anandan accused the Kerala State Pollution Control Board and Supreme Court Monitoring Committee on hazardous wastes of abetting vested interests.
