Book released
"The book provides good background knowledge of our spiritual concepts considered eternal and which lead an inquisitive reader to wisdom, the ultimate objective of all human pursuits, following the two commonly used paths of meditation and devotion," said Mr. Shekhawat. The book has been published by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan as part of its Book University Programme.
Burglars arrested
According to the police, the accused -- Dambar Bahadur, Nar Bahadur and his cousin Rang Bahadur -- were arrested near Fire Station at Sadar Bazar on Thursday evening. The police recovered an imported Colts revolver (.32-bore), four stolen mobile phones and Rs. 19,600 in cash from the accused. The police said the accused had committed burglary in an office on Nawab Road in Sadar Bazar. Two accomplices of the accused, Padam Bahadur and Roshan Bahadur, fled to Nepal immediately after committing the burglary. While Dambar used to work as salesman in a jewellery shop, Nar Bahadur worked as a security guard. His cousin was unemployed. Further investigations are on.
Held with fake currency
According to the police, a decoy customer of the police had struck a deal with the accused who had agreed to sell Rs. 1 lakh worth of fake currency in exchange of Rs. 30,000. The accused, Rishi Kumar, a resident of Timarpur in North Delhi, was arrested when he was about to hand over the fake currency notes to the decoy at his hideout in Nangloi, West Delhi, around 7-45 p.m. on Thursday. The police recovered fake currency notes, worth Rs. 1.65 lakhs, from his possession. They said the fake currency was in the denomination of Rs. 100 only. The police are interrogating him further to ascertain the source of supply of the fake notes.
Children's exhibition
Describing children as the future of the country, Mr. Govil, who is also Director of Nehru Bal Samiti, stressed "the need for doing everything within our capacity to encourage and inspire children".
Summer camp
The camp, which began on May 16, was attended by children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
