OSLO: World record-holder Asafa Powell took the lead early and won the 100 metres in 9.98 seconds at the Bislett Games, the Golden League opening meet, on Friday. Jeremy Wariner, the Olympic and world 400 champ, also impressed. Trailing Chris Brown of the Bahamas coming out of the last curve, the American turned in a furious finish to win the one-lap race in 44.31 the second fastest time of the season.
