LEARNING EXPERIENCE: Swami Vivekamrita Chaitanya, head of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, addressing students at the `Amrita Vidya' Camp held at Amrita Vidyalayam, Kozhikode.
Amritha Vidyalayam, Kozhikode, conducted a camp, `Amrita Vidya', for students of Class X and XII last week. The students were given training in meditation, yoga and bhajans. Swami Vivekamrita Chaitanya, head of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Kozhikode, inaugurated the camp. He spoke about the uniqueness of the Sanatana Dharma. Yoga classes were led by Santhosh and Farida. Dhyanamritha Chaitanya spoke to the children about the importance of fixing goals and staying focussed. He advised them to stop "studying" and start "learning." Demonstrations in cooking, `kalari' and painting were also held. The students enjoyed football sessions with Jayachandran. Padmanabhan spoke about the wonders of nature and the importance of protecting `kavus.' Cooking classes were conducted by Praphula, painting by Sreekumar and communicative Sanskrit class by Smruthi. The school achieved 100 per cent results in the CBSE Class X examinations for the fifth consecutive year. Out of 50 students who took the examination, 25 secured distinction.
