Chennai: There was something to cheer for Indian hockey on Sunday. The National junior team (under 21), which beat Pakistan (4-0), Czech Republic (12-0), Russia (10-2) and Germany (3-2) during the course of this week, claimed the trophy with a 3-0 triumph against Poland in the invitation six-nation tournament at Gniezno. Raja, Raghunath and Sardara Singh scored for the winner. The victory was in keeping with the form shown by the players last week. The team is coached by Clarance Lobo and Olympian Muhammad Riaz.
