Pondicherry: A delegation of the Pondicherry unit of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) headed by the party's Parliamentary party leader M. Ramadoss and comprising the two legislators of Pondicherry R.K.R. Anandaraman and K.P.K. Arulmurugan and also the vice president of the party's Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry units N G Panneerselvam and the party convenor Pon Selvarasu, held discussions on Sunday with the PCC leader P. Shanmugham at the Congress office on allocation of wards to the PMK in civic polls here. The delegation also submitted to Mr. Shanmugham a list of areas in Municipalities and Commune panchayats where the PMK had better chances and where it intended to field its candidates.

Earlier Mr. Ramadoss said in a release that the committee consisting these members had had a meeting under his leadership and perused the applications received from the party men who intended to contest the civic polls. The meeting also considered the winnable seats in the municipalities and in the panchayats.

The meeting of the members of the committee constituted by the high command had decided to submit a list to the PCC during the discussions and had since handed it to him on Sunday.

Mr. Ramadoss said that with a view to ensuring better performance in the civic polls each of the five members attached to the committee had been nominated to the areas for personal concentration.

The convenor of the Pondicherry State unit of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam R.V. Janakiraman along with the newly elected legislators of the party had already held discussions with the PCC leader a few days ago.
