Meet on mineral potential of Tamil Nadu, Kerala

CHENNAI:
A daylong colloquium on the potential of Tamil Nadu and Kerala in minerals will be organised here either in September or October by the state chapter of the Mining Engineers' Association of India.
It would serve as a forum for interaction among experts and agencies associated with mining, State chapter secretary Koneru Venkateswara Rao said at the annual general meeting of the Association here on Saturday.
At a presentation on the oil and natural gas exploration in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, A.K. Gopinath, Chief Geologist (Bid Monitoring Group, Cauvery Basin) of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, said Cuddalore, Perambalur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Ramanathapuram were the districts in which the corporation operated in Tamil Nadu.
