Protection of temple land sought

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: After a futile bid to draw the attention of the district Collector and the Endowments authorities, B. Nadamunaswamy Naidu (85) approached the Press Club on Saturday to clear `encroached' land belonging to Sita Ramachandraswamy temple in Gangamambapuram in Vijayapuram mandal near Puttur. He said the 22.6 acre land endowned to the temple in 1918 by a local philanthropist was under illegal possession of a few `influential people'. He supplied copies of original documents of the temple land.
