VISAKHAPATNAM: The Hindu put up a splendid show in the second CMR-Visakhaptnam Journalists Federation inter-media sports meet - 2006 here. D. Ravi Kumar regained the badminton singles title and was runner-up in doubles along with D. Raja Sekhar. K.R. Deepak won the 100 and 200 metres. B. Srinivasa Rao also of The Hindu triumphed in chess and Y. Rama Rao was third. In the carrom event, A. Manoharan was runner-up in singles and took third place in doubles partnering B. Ganesh. The Hindu team won the tug-of-war. In the women's section, Nivedita Ganguly and G. Madhuri Latha claimed the badminton and carrom titles respectively, while A.V. Rama and V. Anuradha were the runners-up in the same events. The tournament was organised by the Visakha Sports Journalists' Assocation (ViSJA). VJF president S. Siva Sankar presided over the prize distribution function. Chief of bureau of The Hindu B. Prabhakara Sarma, VJA secretary M. Yugandhar Reddy, vice-president G. Janardana Rao, treasurer D. Ravi Kumar, joint secretary Nagaraju Patnaik, ViSJA vice-president Uma Sankar and secretary N. Nageswara Rao and others participated.
