Seven killed in accidents

KARIMNAGAR : Five youths were killed on the spot when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry near Padkal village of Jakranpalli mandal on Sunday.

The youths, belonging to Nirmal of Adilabad district, were returning from Hyderabad when the accident occurred. The dead were identified as K Ajay, 21, J. Ramana, 24, Sheik Aleem, 26, K. Rajeshwar, 29, and Sadanandam, 25.

Rs. 2.07 lakhs in cash was recovered from the spot.

VISAKHAPATNAM : A woman and her daughter were killed when the lorry in which they were travelling overturned at Uddandapuram in Nakkapalli mandal on Sunday. They were identified as Kannuri Mutyalamma, 28, and Sandhya, 7.

According to sub-inspector Venkat Rao, six persons from Patakannuripalem in Kasimkota mandal, returning from a marriage, boarded the cement-laden lorry at Telaprolu in Krishna district.
