HYDERABAD : Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy on Sunday urged schoolchildren to make protection of environment and ecology a way of life and show the world that the country could lead the way in protection of natural resources. He was addressing students at the end of the 40-day camp organised by Jawahar Bal Bhavan (JBB). The event was clubbed with the celebrations of World Environment Day held a day before by Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps (NGC) and Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (PCB). Mr. Reddy recalled how the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi propagated the Wild Life Act, Water Act and protection of environment as part of fundamental duties. He observed that there were adequate laws but what was required was awareness and involvement of all citizens. Earlier he unveiled the statue of Indira Gandhi.
