NARNAUL: The Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday launched an Rs 385 crore project for strengthening power transmission and distribution system in the southern parts of the State. As many as 48 substations of various capacities would be set up under the scheme to improve the power condition of the areas falling under Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN). The DHBVN has drafted a scheme to reinstall 360 feeders of extra load to improve the power supply system of this area, Hooda said after inaugurating a 33 KV sub-station at village Shobhapur near here. ``The entire system would be modified by dividing these feeders in two or three parts. Besides this, 4200 additional transformers would also be set up and 1500 old transformers would be replaced with transformers of additional capacity,'' the Chief Minister said. The DHBVN and Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam had also prepared a comprehensive plan of Rs 21 crore to improve the power supply in Mahendergarh district, he added. Under this, six new substations of 33 KV would be set up and the capacity of 13 old ones upgraded. He said work on installation of 120 KV transformers and capacity upgradation of others was in progress. Similarly, the 168 kms length of lines was also being laid. The Chief Minister said the villages which were paying power bills properly would be declared model villages and world class power supply would be ensured to these villages. As many as ten such villages had been identified for the same including Bachod, Naggal Chaudhry, Dewas, Kherna, Rasulpur, Kanharwas, Balyankalan, Hazariwas and Bagthala. Seven new transformers would be set up in these villages at a cost of Rs 65 lakh and additional lines of 10 km would be installed. The existing wires of about 21 km and all the iron polls would also be replaced. - PTI
