HYDERABAD: The kidneys of a 17-year-old girl who was declared brain dead were harvested and transplanted on two persons here in the city on Sunday. According to a press release issued by Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network (MOHAN), Vaishali, hailing from Bhongir of Nalgonda district, fell ill and was treated at Gandhi Hospital before being shifted to NIMS and then to Care Hospital. She was declared brain dead by doctors on Saturday. Her relatives consented for the donation . Doctors from Care and Mediciti harvested the kidneys and transplanted them, the release added.
