July 18 is last date for autorickshaw fuel conversion

Bangalore: The last date for conversion of autorickshaws registered between April 1, 1991, and December 31, 2003, into liquefied petroleum gas bi-fuel mode in Bangalore is July 18. The Government had through a notification on December 18, 2004, prescribed the time limit. Permits of those who do not switch over to bi-fuel mode before the last date will become invalid. Such autorickshaws will not be allowed to ply in the city. Those converting into liquefied petroleum gas bi-fuel after the due date are not eligible for subsidy amount payable by the Government.
