Entrance results to be announced today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The results of this year's entrance examinations for admission to engineering / medical courses in the State will be announced by Education Minister M.A. Baby at a press conference at the PR Chamber at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. According to a press note issued here on Monday the results can be accessed at the web sites, `www.cee-kerala.org', `www.keralaresults.nic.in' and http://resultskerala.nic.in' from 11 a.m. onwards. Another press note issued here on Monday said the results can also be accessed at the website `www.globalcads.com' from 11 a.m. onwards. — Staff Reporter

Probe ordered against KSEB Chairman

Thrissur: Thrissur Vigilance Inquiry Commissioner and Special Judge P.Q. Barkathali, on Monday, ordered an inquiry against the Kerala State Electricity Board Chairman T.M. Manoharan and Principal Secretary, Irrigation, K.J. Mathew in a case of alleged illegal diversion of Parambikulam-Aliyar waters. The inquiry was ordered on the basis of a complaint filed by P. L. Jacob.

The complaint said that B.S. Radhakrishnan, KSEB representative, was removed from the inter-State river water panel, by vested interests because he did not encourage alleged illegal diversion of water. On a complaint filed by Mr Jacob on May 23, the Special Judge had directed the Vigilance Director to inquire into allegations of diversion of waters involving T.K. Sasi, Irrigation Chief Engineer and Joint Water Regulatory Board Chairman, and T.R. Saileshan, executive engineer. — Staff Reporter

CPI secretariat meet today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State secretariat of the CPI will meet at M.N. Smarakom here on Tuesday. It will be followed by a meeting of the executive on June 7. The State council of the party will meet on June 8 and 9. — Special Correspondent

Honour for Kudumbasree

THIRUVANANTHAPRUAM: The Kudumbasree has been adjudged as the winners of the `Innovation for India' awards. The awards, the first of its kind in India, have been instituted by the Innovation for India Marico Foundation and Business World, India's leading business magazine, and `architected' and audited by Erehwon Innovation Consulting. It was selected from over 160 entries by a distinguished panel comprising eminent business and social leaders. Based on the criteria of uniqueness of the innovation, the impact of the innovation on the organisation and environment and the leverage of resources, the jury have decided the winners. The Kudumbasree entry has been adjudged as a winner in the `not for profit organisations' subcategory of social innovations. — Staff Reporter

MBA admission

KOLLAM: The group discussion and interview for admission to the 12th batch of MBA in the TKM Institute of Management will be held on the institute campus at Ezhukone on June 12. Students who secured above 500 marks in the national level aptitude test can apply. Application forms can be had from the institute or from the TKM Trust office at Kilikollur. Child rescued

THRISSUR: A girl aged about six was rescued by Childline and the Chavakkad police when she was being forcibly deployed for begging by a woman at the bus stand on Monday. The woman identified herself as Lakshmi, 30, hailing from in Tamil Nadu. — Staff Reporter
