Women power at the helm of affairs

For the first time in the history of the State, two key positions in the Secretariat are now occupied by women bureaucrats.

Lizzie Jacob, the former Power Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary, has become the first woman to occupy the seat of the State's Home Secretary. Another key post that is being held by a woman bureaucrat is that of the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. The post is now held by Sheela Thomas.

Will women power make a significant impact in governance is something that everyone would be keenly watching.
