Green repellent
Necessity is the mother of invention. The nomads and migrant workers camping in the city know it better. It was the night raids by mosquitoes in the city that made these sections look for a cheaper alternative for mosquito repellents.
The barks of Copper Pods lining the Park Avenue are being increasingly used by the migrant labours to smoke the mosquitoes away. Some needy people carved away the barks of the trees that were recently uprooted in the monsoon rain and wind.
These barks might have provided some relief from the swarming mosquitoes to those who could not afford to buy mosquito repellents and nets.
