ISLAMABAD : An Indian held on charges of spying at the Central prison in Lahore has died of tuberculosis, police said on Tuesday. Abdul Aziz, 50, from Uttar Pradesh, died on Monday, sub-inspector Ashiq said. "Aziz was arrested a few years back while trying to cross the border without travel documents," Ashiq told the Daily Times. The prisoner had been in the jail hospital for the past four months. The body has been sent for autopsy, he said, adding, "Police will inform the Indian High Commission after the autopsy and decide whether to bury the deceased here or send his body to India." Indian High Commission officials here said they have not received any communication yet. PTI
