Police take preventive measures, several arrested

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Police have launched a "storming operation" in which several anti-social elements have been arrested in the State.

The exercise, part of the preventive measures undertaken by the police, which started on Monday, will continue for the next couple of days, Director-General of Police D. Mukherjee, said. The details of arrests were being collected.

In Chennai nearly 300 persons were arrested so far, police sources said.
