TIRUPATI: The principals of all the seven colleges into which the SVU College of Arts and Science has been recently bifurcated into would have a free hand to adopt their own individual policies regarding admissions, examinations, maintenance of their colleges and attached hostels to suit their requirements. This was communicated to the principals at a meeting the university Vice-Chancellor convened on Tuesday in his chambers for the first time after the new pattern came into vogue. He also favoured that all colleges had uniform rules and regulation for a concerted development and said that policy decisions, however, would be taken only on the basis of the recommendations of the Principals' Council. Reddy said on the basis of performance indices, the best principal and best teachers would be felicitated at the annual convocations. He said he has asked all the principals to submit before the end of the month a detailed report on the extension activities and the developmental works they proposed to take up in the respective colleges.
