SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Students' Federation of India on Tuesday staged a dharna at the Himachal University campus in protest against "selective leakage" of the PMT (Pre-Medical Test) paper allegedly by a mafia with connivance of the secrecy branch of the university. State SFI president Balbir Prashar alleged that the Vice-Chancellor was aware of the leakage but he did not prevent the same. The SFI, alleging a big racket operating behind the selective leakage, is now planning to meet the Chancellor, the State Governor, to hand over a memorandum containing facts and figures. The speakers addressing the rally on Tuesday charged that a big organised racket was operating in the State and the student organisation had warned the operators from time to time but the university authorities were paying no heed. On the other hand, the Vice-Chancellor, L.R. Verma, called a meeting and threatened to file a defamation case against the student leaders for maligning the university's reputation.
