LONDON: England has delayed naming its squad for the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting on June 17 after an injury to stand-in captain Andrew Flintoff. The England and Wales Cricket Board said the announcement due on Wednesday had been postponed until later this week.
Flintoff's participation in the series was thrown into doubt on Monday after scans revealed that he has bone fragments in his left ankle. Flintoff's complaint adds to a long list of injury woes for England. Regular captain Michael Vaughan is making his way back after a lengthy absence with a knee injury, while strike bowlers Steve Harmison and Simon Jones also missed the Test series against Sri Lanka. — Agencies
