Health warning

NEW DELHI: Leader of the Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Subhash Arya has warned of the possibility of an outbreak of diseases like malaria, cholera, jaundice and dengue with the onset of the monsoon.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Arya said the MCD did not have adequate staff to prevent such an outbreak and the Health Department was not serious about the issue. He charged that houses were not being checked properly to prevent mosquito breeding. "Also, water trolleys continue to sell unfiltered water around the city."

Mr. Arya asked the Health Department to spray insecticides in residential colonies before the conditions deteriorate further.
