UDUPI: A one-year diploma course in theatre studies will be started at the Ranga Adyayana Kendra (an unit of Bhandarkar's College) at Kundapur from this academic year. Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, administrative officer of the Academy of General Education H. Shantharam said the kendra was recognised by the Hampi Kannada University. Teachers from the National School of Drama would teach at the kendra for the first three years. The minimum qualification for admission was SSLC, he added. Those interested can send their application, along with a demand draft of Rs. 20 drawn in favour of Bhandarkar's College Trust, to the Ranga Adhyayana Kendra, Bhandarkar's College, Kundapur - 576 201. The last date for submitting applications is July 5.
