Lanco bags big project

City-based firm claims to beat Reliance, Essar to it

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based Lanco Group has claimed that it has outbid Reliance Energy and Essar Group and bagged the country's first tariff-based competitive bidding for the 1,000 MW thermal power project codenamed Anpara in Uttar Pradesh. Lanco also got the contract for three hydroelectric projects in Uttaranchal recently.
