HYDERABAD: Five persons, including three pedestrians, were killed in road accidents in the city in the last 24 hours. A 35-year-old man Narasimha of Gandimailaram village in Rangareddy district died after he was run over by a lorry at Abdullapurmet in Hayathnagar on Monday. Mirza Abdul Kasim, 65, of Fatehdarwaza who suffered injuries after he was hit by a vehicle at Nampally on June 3, died at Osmania General Hospital on Monday. In yet another incident, 25-year-old Mohammed Ahmed of Hyder Basthi was run over by an RTC bus at Secunderabad railway station on Monday. Rash driving by a tractor driver claimed the life of a private company employee, M. Murali Krishna, 30, a resident of IDA Bollarum, at JNTU in Kukatpally on Monday. Y. Ramesh, 43, died after the autorickshaw he was riding was knocked down by a van at Pet Basheerabad.
Held on theft charge
The Banjara Hills police on Tuesday arrested Farah Khan, 19, who allegedly used to invite men to secluded places and rob them with the help of two friends, Maheedhar, 21, and Dinesh Kumar, 19. A resident of Reinbazar, Farah used to dress up to lure men and her friends would follow her. On reaching an isolated place, Maheedhar and Kumar would intercept the couple, threaten them and relieve the man of cash and gold.
