Protest against increase in petrol and diesel prices

Auto drivers' union stages demonstration

Pondicherry: Members of the CITU-led Auto Drivers and Owners Union held a demonstration under the leadership of T. Murugan at an important junction in Pondicherry on Wednesday protesting against the increase in price of petroleum products by the Centre.

They raised slogans criticising the increase and seeking withdrawal of the increase in prices of the fuel.

The members feared that the increase would affect ultimately the poor and the weaker sections of the society and hence the increase in price should be scrapped as well as status quo ante should be restored.
