KATHMANDU: Speaker of Nepali House of Representatives Subhas Chandra Nemwang on Wednesday said there was a need to curtail the King's powers further. Mr. Newang said some vestiges of the King's autocracy remained despite the May 18 declaration of the House curtailing his powers. ``The House will now seek to curtail such powers of the King by adopting the regulation of the House of Representatives,'' he said. Nepal Parliament issued a declaration on May 18, depriving the King of many privileges. It also scrapped the King's title as Supreme Commander of the Army. Xinhua
