NEW DELHI: Private power distribution company BSES on Wednesday released its load-shedding schedule for four months -- June to September -- for Delhi. Based on consumer feedback, the load-shedding schedule has been prepared in an easy-to-read format. The company has prepared a separate 12-page handy booklet for its two companies -- BYPL and BRPL -- that supply power to different areas of the Capital. "The four-month schedule will help consumers plan their day as it will largely eliminate the need for repeatedly calling our 24x7 helpline numbers or local offices. Although BSES will endeavour to strictly adhere to the load-shedding schedule, but it may increase or decrease depending upon the availability of power for distribution," said a BSES spokesperson. Stating that the peak power demand touched 3,725 MW in May, he said the demand in the coming weeks was expected to cross the figure of 3,900 MW, which may lead to power shortage in the Capital. "Therefore, BSES has appealed to its consumers to conserve electricity and adopt the habit of switching off electrical equipments in order to overcome the crisis. The new schedule also mentions handy energy saving tips that will not only go a long way in conserving energy but also save money," the spokesperson added.
