NEW DELHI: The Apollo Hospital authorities here said on Wednesday that their team of doctors as well as the management were cooperating fully with the Delhi police in its investigation of the Rahul Mahajan case. The doctors were questioned again on Wednesday following incomplete sessions on Monday and Tuesday. The Apollo authorities said they never intended to cover up anything or hush up the matter. . According to sources, the police questioned the doctors about any possible delay in collecting Rahul Mahajan's initial blood and urine samples. Despite having the patient admitted at 2-55 a.m. on June 2, the hospital collected his sample only at 6 a.m. after pumping him with fluids that according to the police could have diluted the concentration of substances in the body. Also being probed by the police is the time gap in allowing them to question Rahul Mahajan, even when his medical condition was declared stable by the hospital. Sources said the doctors were questioned whether Rahul Mahajan overstayed in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital to keep the police at bay, even after he was weaned off the ventilator and had started taking food and water. The contradictory laboratory reports will also be investigated.
