CPI(M-L) to go it alone in civic polls

PONDICHERRY: Pondichery State CPI(M-L) has decided to contest the civic polls here. . Member of the State committee of the party P. Sankaran said in a release here on Wednesday, that the party had contested the recent Assembly polls on its own and the same strategy was being adopted for the municipal polls also.

Mr. Sankaran, who welcomed the restoration of democratic rule at the grass-roots level said it was a pity that no elections had been held for three decades to

revive the people's representatives rule at the base level.
