DIVINE DARSHAN: Lord Govindaraja's deity all decked up for being taken out in a procession in Tirupati on Thursday.
TIRUPATI : As part of the annual Brahmotsavams at the TTD's Govindarajaswamy temple, the Lord's deity was taken in a procession on `Surya Prabha' in the morning and `Chandra Prabha' in the evening on Thursday. The procession of the Lord on this day symbolises the reverence to the Lord by all celestial entities, including the sun and the moon. The conduct of `Surya prabha' is timed after dawn in such a way that the sun's rays touch the deity's feet, which is construed as a form of paying obeisance. `Rathothsavam' (car festival) will be performed on Friday.
