LG Electronics' Ranjangaon unit on stream

CHENNAI: LG Electronics India on Friday announced the commencement of operations of its greenfield facility for ODD (optical disk drives) products at Ranjangaon, Pune. LGEIL has begun manufacturing DVD Writers, thus becoming the first company to manufacture the product in the country. The DVD writer plant in Ranjangaon is the second largest DVD Writer plant in Asia. The facility at present has a capacity to produce six lakh units of DVD players a month, according to a release.
