PALAKKAD: The hartal called by the Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP), on Friday, to protest against the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel was total and peaceful in the district. Vehicles, except two wheelers, were off the road. Shops and business establishments remained closed. Government offices registered very thin attendance. KSRTC did not operate services in the district.
