EU to rule on Arcelor-Severtsal merger

BRUSSELS: The European Union's competition regulator said on Friday that it would hand down a decision by July 11 on the planned merger between steel group Arcelor and Russia's Severstal. Meanwhile, Mittal Steel has said the Canadian Competition Bureau has assured it of not challenging its bid to acquire Arcelor.
