Thrissur: Abhilash, 23, of Kallingal in Chalakudy drowned in Chiklaikadavu near here on Friday, according to the police. While having a swim with his friends, Abhilash was swept away by strong currents. The body was recovered from Thumboormuzhi. Vinod, 26, of Nelliparambil in Ancheri drowned in Kainur river on Friday while swimming with his friends, the police said. Sadiq, 8, son of Aboobacker of Ambalathu House in Kecheri, slipped into a water-filled paddy field near his house and drowned on Friday. — Staff Reporter
