RFA donated

CHENNAI: The Rotary Club of Madras Metro donated a Radiation Field Analyser to the Cancer Institute, Adyar. Actor Vivek inaugurated the use of the machine. He promised to make public the message that cancer is curable.

Health camp

South Chakra, a Hindi weekly, organised a free asthma and allergy herbal medicine distribution camp at Jain Bhavan in Sowcarpet on Thursday. Around 150 people benefited.

World Environment Day observed

The Hindu Colony Chellammal Vidyalaya celebrated World Environment Day on Monday. Paper presentations and slide shows were used to emphasise the need for environmental awareness.

Sivananda children excels in exams

The children from the Sivananda Orphanage have recorded a 95 per cent pass in the Class X exams.

Those who studied in English medium recorded a 100 per cent pass for the academic year 2005-2006.

Pre-primary teacher training

CAT 2006 show

Career Launcher, an organisation of trainers for the Common Admission Test (CAT) for entering top-B school will hold free audio-visual show for the aspirants on Sunday at its Adyar centre between 10.30 a.m. and noon.

The show will be anchored by expert panellists from IITs & IIMs featuring typical b-school profiles, day-to-day academic learning of students. This will be followed by an open house.
