Police: no illegal detention
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
The Delhi Police on Friday denied that they had illegally detained anyone in connection with the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case.
They were responding to a notice by the National Human Rights Commission on alleged illegal detention of nine persons in this connection on June 2 and torture. The police said they were only questioned, as they were present at the time of the crime. They were called to the police station, as their statement was vital for the case. Of these, only Ganesh was formally arrested. He subsequently got bail.
