CHENNAI: For a small country, Israel has a lot to offer. `Columbian Love' the inaugural film of the Israeli Film Festival gave the audience a humorous account of the multiculturalism in the country. The event was inaugurated by Consul-General of Israel, Mumbai, Daniel Zohar Zonshine. "The films are not exactly what you see in Israel, but some part of the reality," he said. Film personality Anu Hasan said watching a film that you could identify with was always more interesting. The festival is organised by the Consulate General of Israel, The Indo-Israel Friendship Association and the Indo Cine Appreciation. The inaugural function was also attended by S. Ve Sekhar, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Tamil Nadu Government, C. Muthukumaraswamy, and president of the Indo-Israel Friendship Association C. Lakshmi Narain. On June 10, `Walk on Water' and `God's Sand Box' were screened at the South Indian Film Chamber Theatre. On Sunday, `Avanti Popolo' and `Summer of Aviva' will be shown. Screenings start at 6.15 p.m.
