ANANTAPUR: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) would take measures to provide basic facilities in its bus stations, Sudhakar Rao, executive director of the corporation for Kadapa and Nellore zones, said here on Saturday. Talking to reporters, he said that the organisation would progress rapidly if drivers and conductors maintained time sense. They were also being trained on improving the occupancy ratio (OR). He stated that 24 new buses would be provided to Anantapur this year and another 114 old buses would be replaced. Kurnool was in the first place at profit making in six regions under the Kadapa and Nellore zones, he said. Anantapur was in the third place. Anantapur Region Manager M.N. Prakash Rao said that a special squad headed by a Police Circle Inspector was formed to prevent illegal transportation of passengers.
