MADURAI: Janarthanan of Union Club entered the billiards semifinals of the Kasim Residency 1st City Open billiards and snooker tournament organised by Pot Black centre defeating M. Cleur of Railway Institute 207-128 here on Sunday.

Billiards (quarterfinals): Janarthanan bt M. Cleur 207-128; Murugesan (Rly. Inst) bt Jayakumar (Rly. Inst) 174-166; John Peters (Rly. Inst) bt Moovendra Pndian (Rly. Inst) 189-180.

Second round: Suresh (P.B.) bt Edwin (P.B.) 123-108; John Peters bt Abishek (P.B.) 198-126.

Snooker (Second round): J. Karthikeyan (P.B.) bt Gopinath (P.B.) 60-49, 83-70; Rakesh (P.B.) bt Edwin (P.B.) 72-61, 19-39, 54-38.
