CPI demands Government action

KOCHI: The Eloor local committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has expressed concern over the havoc caused by industrial pollution in Eloor. There is acute drinking water problem in the area. The Central and State Governments must immediately intervene and initiate steps to check pollution, which has been taking a heavy toll on the health of Kochi residents. A medical camp should be organised in Eloor, the local committee secretary of the CPI, P.J. Sebastian said in a press release. — Staff Reporter

Landowners express concern

KOCHI: The Landowners' Association of Vathuruthy has expressed concern over the frequent collapse of huge fuel tanks in Vathuruthy. In a press release, association general secretary, T.V. Manoharan said the incident in May was the third in a row. He said that the tanks should be constructed bearing in mind the safety aspects.
