This Day That Age
The Union Minister for Natural Resources, Mr. K.D. Malaviya, told pressmen at Bangalore on June 12 that the Government of India intended to prospect for oil in the Cauvery basin. He said Indian geologists had stated that there was likelihood of oil in certain river basins in the east and west of South India. Russian experts, who had visited the country, also confirmed this.
