SALEM: They have followed a common path of profound dedication and achievement in improving the lives of people. They have come from different countries and cultures. What links them is that they had a vision and worked towards its realisation with determination despite great obstacles.

They followed non-violence to achieve their goal.

To showcase the lives and achievements of Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Daisaku Ikeda (president of the Soka Gakkai International), an exhibition, `Gandhi, King, Ikeda: A legacy of building peace,' has been organised by the Bharat Soka Gakkai, a non-Government organisation, at the Thiagarajar Polytechnic College Auditorium.

The exhibition features photographs of various moments in the lives of Gandhi, King and Ikeda. Also on display are inspiring quotes and information on them.

According to organisers of the exhibition, though Gandhi and King are no more, their vision and ideals live on. Following their ideals, Dr. Daisaku Ikeda has taken consistent efforts to empower the weak and downtrodden, and instil hope and joy among them. The exhibition conveys the themes and pivotal principles in the lives of the three men. Even an individual, if he or she decides to stand up, can make a difference. This is the message of the exhibition, which is on till June 14. It is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
