VISAKHAPATNAM: The Department of Geology of Andhra University organised the first group monitoring workshop-cum-third meeting of the expert panel on fast track proposals for young scientists in earth and atmospheric sciences on Friday and Saturday. C. Kasipathi, professor in the department, coordinated the programme of the Earth and Atmospheric Wing of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The aim of the programme is to scrutinize the fresh proposals for the award of Young Scientist fellowships to the eligible Indian earth and atmospheric science doctoral candidates and to monitor the progress of the young scientists of the Department of Science and Technology who have been working for the past two years on research topics covering different parts of the country.
