Creative Future School project participants to be announced

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The British Council will soon announce the names of 20 candidates who will be invited to take part in a `Creative Future School' programme for young entrepreneurs.

Creative Future School, described as a project to identify and nurture a new generation of Indian creative entrepreneurs with business ideas, is a two-week residential course at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore.

Sixty candidates, chosen from applications received by the British Council, will be interviewed in Chennai and Delhi from June 12 to 14. The shortlisted 20, to be named on July 16, will participate in the mentoring programme to equip them with networking skills and the ability to build businesses.

In February 2007, the finalists will unveil their ideas to potential Indian investors. At the end of the process, one of them would be declared the overall winner.

The programme was developed in association with the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, leading UK industry experts and the Commonwealth Business Council.
