According to information reaching the district headquarters, Ramesh went to the hamlet on a motorcycle in the morning in connection with the investigation of a case in the village. When he was returning three suspected Maoists intercepted him, and beating him up severely, pumped bullets into his forehead and abdomen. Ramesh died instantaneously. The assailants called a person, who was standing some distance away, and revealed their identity. ASP Wanaparthi Shahnawaz Qasim visited the spot and the police were questioning that person for further details.
