CHENNAI: The Pattali Makkal Katchi on Monday demanded that an all-party team of parliamentarians should be sent to Sri Lanka to assess the condition of Tamils there. In a statement, party founder S. Ramadoss said the team should ascertain from the Tamils options for resolving the problem. When the Sri Lanka Government sent teams to India for discussions, such groups should include the Tamils' representatives. Dr. Ramadoss urged the Centre to ensure that the Tamils did not face "human rights violations." He also urged the State Government to provide all basic amenities to Tamil refugees.
