Chief Minister to inaugurate two BDA projects today

BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will inaugurate two projects completed by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Tuesday. He will also lay the foundation stone for two more projects, according to a release.

Mr. Kumaraswamy will lay the foundation stone for the Magadi Chord Road Junction underpass. The underpass, which is estimated to cost Rs. 26.85 crore, is being constructed to decongest traffic in the area. The junction has a traffic volume of more than 13,000 vehicles during peak hour.

The underpass is 530 metres and has a vertical clearance of five metres. The project is to be completed within 12 months. The Ramamurthy Nagar underpass for which the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone is expected to cost Rs. 1,415 lakh. The underpass will have three-lane bi-directional traffic, service roads and RCC drains. Mr. Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the HBR commercial complex and the casualty block of Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital. The HBR complex, which was commissioned in 2003, has space for 31 shops. It has parking space for 38 cars.

The casualty block of Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital can accommodate 190 beds.
